Research of highly precise astrometry and geodesy by using VLBI technique

Resarch in the fields of astrometry and geodesy by using VLBI technique, which is a kind of radio interferometry, as below
Structure and kinematic field of the Milky way galaxy with measurements of trigonometric parallax and proper motions for maser objects
Establishment of precise determination of station positions
Station motion mechanism by ocean and atmosphere loadings and plate motions
Star formation mechanism and evolution with observations of 3-dimensional gas dynamics
Mechanism of evoled star gas outflow with observations of 3-dimensional gas dynamics
System developments for more sensitive and precise VLBI observations
Highly sensitive VLBI observations with Japan domestic VLBI stations ( Japanese VLBI network)
Organization of East Asis VLBI network with Korea and China
Maintenace of the Esashi earth tide station in order to keep observations of precise crustal movements

1899 The Temporal Latitude Observatory, International Latitude Service (ILS) was established.
1920 It became to Latitude Observatory.
1988 It was reorganized into Research Facility of National Astronomical Observatory of Japan.
2004 It was reorganized into Mizusawa Astrogeodynamic Observatory, National Institute of Natural Sciences, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, Inter-University Research Institute Corporation.
2006 The Mizusawa Astrogeodynamic Observatory was reorganized to Mizusawa VERA Observatory
